Never alone.

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cuz' no one else cared
After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here

I stayed at the office late yesterday. Me, reviewing a huge file I know nothing about, and Brandon, building me a bookshelf for my office (thanks, honey!).  It was dark when our work was finally done and we left separately to drive ourselves in our individual vehicles heading towards the same destination, home.  I was feeling very much alone in my little transporter having to drive by myself on this dark evening with no one to talk to.  But as I left behind the blazing lights of the city, I realized I wasn't alone at all.  The moon in her splendour was my company.  She was so bright there was really no need for headlights as I was driving home along the country roads (don't worry people, I left my lights on, it's easier to avoid the deer and critters on the road when you can see them...).  It comforted me to know that she was shining down on me.  That despite the brightness of day, she still came out at night, her shy visage uncovered, to watch over me and those few other people who seem to be out during the night.  It made me think that we're not really alone at all.  Whether it's the moon, God, the sun, Mother Nature, Buddha, or Whoever, we're never alone.  I think Yoda would agree that there's more to being alive than this crude matter.  There's a reason for everything and there's a circle of life and we're all connected somehow.  A lonely drive on a dark, quiet night and the thoughts and feelings come rolling over me - I'm never alone, I'm loved.  And I LOVE.  I love my family and my friends.  I hope they know that I love them all.  I hope they realize they're never alone, they're in my thoughts constantly.  But even in that split-second where I may be preoccupied or acting selfish or am sleeping, there will always be someone watching out for them for me.  Whoever that may be, I am grateful.
